My research and writing is focused on the entangled themes of landscape, place and nature. I’m particularly interested in the historical geographies of horticulture (for my PhD I researched the historical and cultural landscapes of watercress).

I also carry out research on manuscripts (from the seventeenth century onwards) and am currently examining diaries, letters and day books created by farmers in England during the long nineteenth century.

I examine these themes variously through archival study, travel and creative writing. My work is inter-disciplinary in nature and I enjoy collaborative projects.
